Lady Panthers Surge into Second Place in CIAA North

Box Score Virginia Union University's Melyse Brown scored 18 points to lead the Lady Panthers to a 67-45 win over Bowie State University on Monday, February 17, in Bowie, Md.

The win was the fourth in the last five games for the Lady Panthers and put VUU in sole possession of second place in the Northern Division of the CIAA with two games left to play.

VUU's Lady Walker added 16 points while fellow freshman Jasmin Dancy added 11 points.

Virginia Union's Denesha Tatum led the Lady Panthers on the boards with 11 rebounds.

The win raised VUU's record to 8-14 overall and 5-9 in the CIAA.  The Lady Panthers are 4-4 in the Norhtern Division.

Virginia Union now travels to Elizabeth City, N.C., to face Elizabeth City State University at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 19.
