Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored 24 points, but host Clayton State University defeated the Lady Panthers 88-51 on the opening day of the Heritage Bank Clayton State Classic, held on Friday, December 5, in Morrow, Ga.

Freeman hit eight of 18 shots from the field, including two three-pointers.  

VUU's Lady Walker added 11 points in the game and led the Lady Panthers along with Jasmin Dancy with seven rebounds.

The loss evened Virginia Union's record at 3-3 while Clayton State is now 6-2.

VUU will now face the University of North Georgia on the second day of the Heritage Bank Clayton State Classic at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, December 6, in Morrow, Ga.
