Box Score Virginia Union University's Denesha Tatum scored 14 points, but Winston-Salem State University defeated the Lady Panthers 80-65 on Thursday, January 2, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

VUU's Ashle Freeman led Virginia Union with 15 points while teammate ShaHadah Barret added 14 points.

Tatum also led the Lady Panthers with eight rebounds in the game.

The loss dropped Virginia Union to 3-6 overall and 0-1 in the CIAA.  Winston-Salem State is now 7-4 overall and 1-0 in the CIAA.

VUU now travels to Salisbury, N.C., to face Livingstone College at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 4.
