Virginia Union University's Jarvis Rideau scored a 7-5, 6-1 win at #1 singles, but it proved to be the only win for the night as VUU was defeated by Southern Virginia University 8-1 in men's tennis action on Wednesday, March 27, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Jaymes Berry lost 6-0, 6-1 while teammate Terrence Malone lost 6-4, 6-0.

Virginia Union's Charles Sheets lost 6-3, 4-6, 10-8 and David Taylor lost 6-1, 6-3.

VUU lost all three of its doubles matches.

Virginia Union's men's tennis team is now 2-9 on the season.  The Panthers will now meet Chowan University at 1:00 p.m. on Monday, April 1, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
