Box Score Virginia Union University's Renesha Chiles had a career-high nine runs-batted-in to lead VUU to a 17-12 win over Elizabeth City State University on Sunday, March 17, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

Chiles batted six times and had a home run in the win.

VUU trailed 9-3 after four innings, but then exploded for eight runs in the top of the fifth inning.  VUU added six more runs in the sixth inning for the final tally of 17 runs.

The second game of the scheduled double-header was canceled due to ECSU not having enough players.  There's no word on if the game will be made up at a later date.

The win raised VUU's record to 3-1 on the season overall and in the CIAA.  Elizabeth City State fell to 0-11 overall and 0-8 in the CIAA.

The Lady Panthers are now scheduled to play the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore in a double-header starting at 2:00 p.m. on Wednesday, March 20, at the VUU Softball Field.
