Virginia Union University's women's tennis team defeated Bowie State University 8-1 in a CIAA match-up on Saturday, March 9, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Kiara Miller won her match 6-0, 6-0 while teammate Ellie Parsons won 6-0, 6-0.

Virginia Union's Katrina Joe won at #3 singles 6-2, 6-3 and April George won her match 6-3, 6-4.

Dejamine Byrson of VUU won her singles match 6-3, 6-7, 10-8 and Ernisa McClendon won 4-6, 6-3, 10-8.

VUU took two out of three double matches to seal the win.

The Lady Panthers are now 3-4 on the season and 3-1 in CIAA play.  

VUU now meets Trinity Washington University at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 13, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.
