Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored 27 points while teammate Melyse Brown had a "double-double" as VUU downed Virginia State University 64-50 in the Siegel Center in Richmond, Va.

Brown scored 12 points and pulled down a team-high 12 rebounds in the game.

VUU led 32-15 at halftime and out-rebounded VSU 41-36 in the game.

The win gave the Lady Panthers sole possession of second place in the Northern Division of the CIAA.  

The win also raised VUU's record to 10-11 overall and 7-6 in the CIAA.  The loss dropped Virginia State to 10-12 overall and 3-9 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now returns to Barco-Stevens Hall to face Bowie State University on Wednesday, February 13, at 5:30 p.m. in Richmond, Va.
