Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored 22 points while Parress Davis had a double-double, but Chowan University surprised the Lady Panthers 71-57 on Saturday, February 23, in Murfreesboro, N.C., in the regular-season finale for both teams.

Davis had 13 points and 12 rebounds in the game.  VUU's Danielle Ferguson also added 13 points in the game.

VUU wrapped up the regular season with a 12-13 record overall.  The Lady Panthers finished as the second seed in the Northern Division of the CIAA.

Chowan was led by Talaya Lynch's 37 points.  The Hawks finished the regular season at 5-20 overall and 5-11 in the CIAA.

The Lady Panthers, in all likelihood, will play on Wednesday, February 27, against the winner of the Virginia State University/Livingstone College game in the CIAA Tournament in the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C.
