Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored a team-high 15 points while teammate Melyse Brown had a double-double as VUU defeated Bowie State University 65-41 in Barco-Stevens Hall on Wednesday, February 13.

The night was marked by pink balloons and nets as the VUU basketball teams helped promote breast cancer awareness.

Brown had 12 points and 11 rebounds as she garnered her third double-double game of the season.

VUU's Danielle Ferguson and Parress Davis had 11 points apiece in the win.

Bowie State was led by Bria Robinson's 13 points.

The win kept the Lady Panthers in second place in the Northern Division of the CIAA.  VUU is now 11-11 overall and 8-5 in CIAA play.

Bowie State fell to 6-15 overall and 3-10 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Lincoln University, Pa., to take on the Lady Lions of Lincoln (Pa.) University at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 16.
