Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored a career-high 39 points to propel the Lady Panthers to a 94-80 win over #29 West Liberty University on Saturday, November 9, on the second day of the Glenville State Women's Basketball Open in Glenville, W.V.

Freeman hit 15 of 27 shots from the field while adding nine of 11 free throws.  Freeman also had a game-high eight steals in the game.

VUU's Melyse Brown scored a career-high 26 points while teammate Denesha Tatum added 15 points in the win.

Tatum also led the Lady Panthers with nine rebounds.

VUU is now 1-1 on the season while West Liberty fell to 1-1.

Virginia Union now return to Historic Barco-Stevens Hall to face the University of the District of Columbia at 3:00 p.m. on Saturday, November 16, in Richmond, Va.
