Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored 22 points while teammate Carla Cowherd grabbed 13 rebounds, but the University of the District of Columbia defeated the Lady Panthers 68-53 in VUU's home opener on Saturday, November 16, in Historic Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

VUU's Lady Walker scored 12 points while Melyse Brown scored 10 points in the win.  Brown also had eight rebounds.

The loss dropped VUU to 1-2 on the season while UDC is now 2-0.

Virginia Union now faces Winston-Salem State University at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, November 19, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
