Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored a team-high 19 points, but Elizabeth City State University defeated the Lady Panthers 72-55 on Wednesday, January 30, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

VUU's Melyse Brown added 14 points in the game, and pulled down 11 rebounds for a double-double.

Elizabeth City State's Shatara Jackson scored 18 points to lead the Lady Vikings in the scoring.

The loss dropped VUU to 8-11 overall and 5-5 in CIAA play.  Elizabeth City State is now 17-3 overall and 9-1 in the CIAA.

The Lady Panthers now return home to face Chowan University at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 2, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
