Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored a career-high 30 points, but Bowie State University defeated the Lady Panthers 64-56 on Wednesday, January 23, in Bowie, Md.

Freeman became the first Lady Panther to score 30 or more points since Tonaye Smith scored 30 points against Virginia State University on January 16, 2010.

VUU's Parress Davis added 10 points in the game while teammate Melyse Brown pulled down a team-high seven rebounds.

Bowie State was led in scoring by Bria Robinson, who scored 21 points.

The loss dropped Virginia Union to 7-10 on the season overall and 4-4 in CIAA play.  The loss also evened VUU's divisional record at 1-1.

Bowie State is now 5-11 overall and 2-6 in the CIAA.  The Lady Bulldogs are also 1-1 in CIAA divisional play.

Virginia Union now returns home to Barco-Stevens Hall to face Lincoln University at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 26.
