Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored a team-high 14 points while teammate Melyse Brown added 12 points, but Fayetteville State University defeated the Lady Panthers 76-51 on Saturday, January 12, in Felton J. Capel Arena in Fayetteville, N.C.

Freeman hit six of 15 shots from the field while Brown went 4-for-11.

VUU's Parress Davis and Stephanie Carr had six rebounds apiece in the game.

Fayetteville State was led in scoring by Shuanda Ashford's 24 points.

The loss dropped Virginia Union to 5-8 overall and 2-3 in CIAA play.  Fayetteville State is now 13-2 overall and a perfect 5-0 in the CIAA.

VUU now travels to Raleigh, N.C., to face Saint Augustine's University at 5:30 p.m. on Monday, January 14.
