Box Score Virginia Union University's Ashle Freeman scored a team-high 16 points while teammate Parress Davis had a double-double with 13 points and 10 rebounds, but defending national champion Shaw University beat VUU 80-50 on Thursday, January 10, in Spaulding Gym in Raleigh, N.C.

Freeman also led the Lady Panthers with five steals in 39 minutes of play.

Shaw was led in scoring by Taylor Dalrymple's 18 points and Crystal Harris' nine rebounds.

The loss dropped VUU to 5-7 overall and 2-2 in CIAA play.  Shaw is now 11-2 overall and 3-1 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Fayetteville, N.C., to face Fayetteville State University at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 12.
