Virginia Union University's Kierris Doyle slammed a home run, but it couldn't keep Chowan University from sweeping the Lady Panthers 12-1 and 11-3 on Friday, April 6, in Murfreesboro, N.C.

Doyle's blast sailed over the left field wall in the fourth inning of the second game.  It was Doyle's sixth homer of the season.

In the opener, VUU's Shakia Mackey drove home teammate Tekesha Rhodes with a double.  VUU's Quincy Lewis struck out three over four innings of work.

VUU's Danielle McEachern took the loss in the nightcap.

Virginia Union now travels to Elizabeth City, N.C., to meet the Elizabeth City State University  in a double-header on Monday, April 9.

VUU wraps up the 2012 home season with a double-header against Washington Adventist University at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, April 10, at Parker Field in Richmond, Va.
