Virginia Union University's men's tennis team staged the 2012 home opener by taking on Norfolk State University on Tuesday, March 21, at Battery Park in Richmond, Va.

The Panthers fell to the Spartans 9-0.

VUU's Charles Sheets, Terrance Malone, Orlando Nelson and David Taylor were defeated by their Norfolk State counterparts 6-0, 6-0.  VUU's Jaymes Berry lost 6-1, 6-0.

The men's tennis team now travels to Petersburg, Va., to take part in the Virginia State University Round-Up I on Friday, March 23.
