Virginia Union University's women's tennis team split their season-opening matches, beating Randolph-Macon College 8-1 and then dropping a 8-1 decision to Saint Mary's College on Saturday, February 27, in Ashland, Va.

In the opener, VUU's Kiara Miller, Ellie Parsons, Katrina Joe, DeJamine Bryson and Shacoya Patrick were all victorious in their singles matches.  The doubles teams of Miller & Parsons, Joe & George, and Bryson & Patrick were all winners in their matches as well.

In the second match, VUU's lone win came when Kiara Miller defeated her opponent at number-one singles.

VUU now returns to Richmond, Va., for it's home opener against Virginia Wesleyan University on Wednesday, February 29, in Battery Park.
