Lady Panthers Go Pink Against Bowie State

Virginia Union University's softball team wore pink for the first time as they faced Bowie State University, but the Lady Bulldogs downed VUU 15-1 and 13-5 on April 18 at Parker Field in Richmond, Va.

The Lady Panthers wore pink to help raise awareness of the fight against breast cancer.

In the first game, VUU's Valeria Cantu gave up just three earned runs, but the Lady Panthers committed nine errors.

In the night-cap, VUU's Linnette Johnson also gave up just three earned runs, but VUU committed 10 errors to let Bowie State gain the sweep.

The losses dropped VUU to 9-21 on the season.

The Lady Panthers wrap up the 2011 softball season when they meet Elizabeth City State University in a double-header at Parker Field in Richmond, Va., on April 19.
