Virginia Union University's Valeria Cantu picked up two wins as the Lady Panthers downed Fayetteville State University 10-9 and then beat Livingstone College 17-7 on the second day of the CIAA Softball Round-Up on March 13 in Raleigh, N.C.

Cantu struck out four and walked none as VUU downed Fayetteville State.  VUU's Danielle Brown slugged drove in five runs with a home run and a double.

In the second game, Cantu came in in relief of Renesha Chiles and struck out five and walked none over six additional innings of work.  Cantu and teammate Shakia Mackey also homered in the game.

The wins raised VUU's record to 6-7 overall and 4-4 in CIAA play.

VUU concludes play in the CIAA Round-Up on March 14 when the Lady Panthers face Johnson C. Smith University at 9 a.m.
