Virginia Union University's Valentina Wheeler scored 11 points while Micayla Ricks and Tiffany Clarke added 10 points apiece, but Chowan University was able to stop the Lady Panthers 68-57 on January 29 in Murfreesboro, N.C.

VUU's Alaura Jones and Gabrielle Easley added six points apiece while Yuvonna Stevens grabbed six rebounds.

Chowan was led by Ransheda Jennings 17 points.

The loss dropped VUU to 0-14 on the season and 0-7 in CIAA play.  Chowan is now 9-9 and 6-4 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now returns home to Barco-Stevens Hall to face Lincoln University on January 31 at 5:30 p.m.
