Monroe Beard
Monroe Beard will be inducted posthumously into the VUU Hall of Fame. In 1964 he was named to the All-CIAA Football Team as a halfback. Beard led the CIAA in rushing with 1,043 yards in 1964 and again in 1965 with 765 yards. He also led the CIAA in Total Offense with 1,440 yards in 1964. Beard went on play in the American Football League with the San Diego Chargers.
James Howard
James Howard led Virginia Union University to three consecutive CIAA Golf Championships in 1967, 1968 and 1969. He earned All-CIAA honors each of those years.
Derrick Johnson
Derrick Johnson helped lead Virginia Union University men's basketball team to the 1992 NCAA Division II National Championship. He was named the Most Outstanding Player of the 1992 NCAA National Tournament as well as being named to the 1992 NCAA All-Tournament Team. Johnson also earned All-American honors as well as All-CIAA honors in 1994.
Eunice Johnson
Eunice Johnson earned All-CIAA honors in women's basketball in 1980 and 1981. She was also named to the 1981 CIAA All-Tournament Team. Johnson led the team in scoring with 226 points and 43 blocks in 1979-80 and was named the Most Valuable Player of the Lady Panthers in 1979-80.
Herman Lewis
Herman Lewis led the CIAA in football receiving yards in 1967 with 692 yards, for an average of 16.5 yards per catch. He also led the CIAA in punting in 1967 with 863 yards on 22 punts (39.2 yards per punt).   Lewis played for the Denver Broncos of the National Football League after finishing his collegiate career.
Irvin Mallory
Irvin Mallory led the defense for the Virginia Union University football teams in the late 1960s. Mallory was drafted in the 14th round of the 1971 National Football League Draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. The Glen Allen, Va., native played in the NFL for the New England Patriots, returning a kickoff for 19 yards during the 1971 season.
Warren Peebles
Warren Peebles earned All-American honors in men's basketball in 1994 after leading Virginia Union University to the CIAA Tournament Championship. He was also named All-CIAA after the 1993-94 season. Peebles has played professionally in Holland as well as once scoring 49 points in a single game during the Greater Richmond Pro-Am Summer Basketball League.
Larry Roberts
Larry Roberts was a freshman sensation on the 1972 Virginia Union University football team. In 1973, Roberts led VUU to it's first CIAA Football Championship in 50 years. He also led the CIAA in rushing with 989 yards. Roberts earned All-CIAA honors as a running back in 1973 and 1974. After college, Roberts played in the National Football League with the Oakland Raiders.
Elias Stukes
Elias Stukes will be inducted into the Virginia Union University Hall of Fame posthumously.  Stukes' career was tragically cut short in 1971 when, after moving into the starting lineup for the Panthers, suffered a fatal neck injury in VUU's game against Elizabeth City State University. Stukes was only 23 years old when he passed away on October 14, 1971. The entire VUU community turned out for a memorial service in Barco-Stevens Hall.
Jamie Waller
Jamie Waller is second only to Mike Davis among the all-time leading scorers for Virginia Union University men's basketball. Waller scored 2,568 points in his four-year career at VUU, an amount which is sixth among the all-time leading scorers in the CIAA. Waller was named to the All-CIAA men's basketball team in 1985, 1986 and 1987 and played for the New Jersey Nets of the National Basketball League.
