Virginia Union University's Alaura Jones was named to the 2010 Cluck U Chicken Bowie State Classic Team after her performance for the Lady Panthers over the two games of December 29-30 in Bowie, Md.

Jones had nine points and seven rebounds in VUU's 69-43 loss to Ferris State University on the first day of the Classic on December 29.  Tiffany Clarke led the Lady Panthers with 10 points in the game.

Jones then scored a career-high 21 points and had nine rebounds in VUU's 78-56 loss to Gannon University on December 30.  Jones was the only Lady Panther to reach double-figures against Gannon.

The losses dropped VUU to 0-7 on the season.

VUU now returns home to Barco-Stevens Hall to face CIAA rival Winston-Salem State University on January 8, 2011.
