VUU vs Shaw

The Lady Panthers opened the 2009-2010 campaign against Shaw University Lady Bears. Senior Tonaye Smith finished with a team high of 19 points and seven rebounds. While fellow teammate Tiffany Clarke added ten points in a 70-55 loss to the Lady Bears.

Union won the battle of the boards, out-rebounding Shaw 46 to 40. Freshmen Ashlynn Massey pulled down nine rebounds to go along with nine points. Yuvonna Stevens and Gabrielle Easley accounted for eight rebounds each but turnovers plagued Union, committing 18.

The Lady Panthers will open their home season on 11/19 against Mt. Olive College game time is set for 6:00pm.
