Virginia Union University Golf Team competed in the 2025 PGA Works Collegiate Championship Tournament on May 5th-7th, 2025. The tournament was hosted on The Whistling Straits and Irish courses. Whistling Straits is located in Kohler, Wisconsin. Whistling Straits, designed by the late Pete Dye, is a renowned golf course known for its challenging links-style layout and breathtaking views of Lake Michigan. The Straits, in particular, is celebrated for its dramatic elevation changes, rugged bunkers, and windswept terrain, reminiscent of Scottish links course proved to be a challenge for all the golfers. The tournament was a 54-hole tournament. The final day was a challenge to all the golfers with wind gusts up to 35 miles per hour.  
 
There were nine Division 2 Teams competing in The 2025 PGA Works Collegiate Championship Tournament. VUU's Team scoring was led 1st Year Grad Student Joseph Graham finished with a score of 234 (74/80/80), followed by Sophomore Brady Wood, with a score of 237 (83/76/78), followed by Zaccheus Spann 2nd  Year Grad Student with a score of 245 (79/80/86), followed by Sophomore Benjamin Nicholson who finished with a score of 245 (83/82/80) and followed by Sophomore Joseph Boone who finished with a score of 253 (85/78/90). 
 
"This was a competitive PGA Works Collegiate Championship field and the VVU Golf Team responded well," said VUU Head Golf Coach E. Lee Coble.  "With the help of Assistant Coach Sean Bowers, the team played well.  It was a great finish to the 2025 CIAA Championship Season. We are immensely proud of the way the guys persevered to the end. We continue to be immensely proud of the accomplishments of our VUU Golf Team on and off the golf course". We are excited as we are now in the rebuilding stage heading into the 2025 Fall Season.
