The Virginia Union University football team, the defending CIAA Champions, will open the 2025 football season by appearing in the Black College Football Hall of Fame Classic on Sunday, August 31, 2025, in Canton, Oh.
The Panthers will face the champions of the SIAC, Miles College, in the game which will be broadcast nationally on the NFL Network at 4:00 p.m.
VUU will then travel to Jacksonville, Fla., to face Edward Waters University on Saturday, September 13, before returning home to face Johnson C. Smith University on Saturday, September 20, at Hovey Field in Richmond, Va.
Virginia Union will have four home games in 2025, against Lincoln (Pa.) University on October 18, Bowie State University on October 25, and against arch-rival Virginia State University on Saturday, November 8.
"We are excited about the 2025 schedule," said VUU Head Football Coach Dr.
Alvin Parker. "We face two new opponents, both from the SIAC, with one being the league champion. This will be followed by eight tough CIAA opponents. We are in preparation and look forward to what will be a challenging 2025 season."
