Virginia Union University Golf team competed in the 2025 Saint Leo's Men's Invitational Golf Tournament on February 17th & 18th, 2025. The Invitational was held on the South Course at Lake Jovita Golf & Country Club. The South Course, the original track at Lake Jovita and has a more traditional design than the North Course. It features generous fairways and velvety-smooth greens. The layout weaves through lakes and ponds that came into play on several holes. The course was built to fully utilize the hilly terrain, incorporating a variety of elevation changes throughout. The par-5 11th holes even featured a 94 foot drop from tee to green, which is the largest natural elevation change in the entire state.
There were eighteen teams competing in Saint Leo's Invitational Tournament. VUU Team scoring was led by Sophomore Ben Nicholson finished with a score of 234 (81/76/77), followed by
Brady Wood, Sophomore, with a score of 239 (82/77/80), followed by
Zaccheus Spann 2nd Year Grad Student, with a score of 240 (82/81/77) followed by
Joseph Graham 1st Year Grad Student with a score of 240 (79/84/77), followed by Sophomore
Joseph Boone with a score of 244 (79/80/85).
"This was another very strong competitive field. This was a good starting tournament experience as we prepare for the 2025 CIAA Southern Division Tournament," said VUU Head Golf Coach
