Virginia Union University's Darian Bryant has been invited to the Pittsburgh Steelers mini-camp, it was announced on Saturday, May 6.

Bryant, a graduate student offensive lineman for the Panthers, was named First-Team All-CIAA in 2023.   Bryant anchored an offensive line which allowed VUU to lead the CIAA in scoring with an average of 40.5 points per game last season.  The VUU offensive line also cleared the way for sophomore Jada Byers to rush for a CIAA and VUU record 1,920 yards in 2023.

VUU finished the 2023 season at 9-2, and hosted an appearance in the NCAA Football Playoffs.

"No person could be more deserving of an opportunity like this" said VUU Associate Head Football Coach Diego Ryland.  "All of Virginia Union athletics is proud and happy for Darian. We are just as proud as he is Graduating with his Masters of Arts in Curriculum and Instruction as well."

The Steelers will hold their mini-camp on May 12-14 at the UPMC Rooney Sports Complex in Pittsburgh, Pa.
