Virginia Union University's men's basketball team will play Fairmont State University in the first round of the 2023 NCAA Division II Basketball Tournament at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 11, in Indiana, Pa.

VUU is the fourth-ranked seed in the Atlantic Region, with Fairmont State being the fifth seed.

In the second round, Virginia Union would play the winner of #1 Indiana (Pa) and #8 Winston-Salem State University on Sunday, March 12.

VUU defeated Fairmont State 88-83 in overtime on December 30, 2022, at Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
