Virginia Union University's
Jada Byers has been named the Don Hansen Division II Offensive Player of the Year, it was announced.
Byers, a sophomore who is majoring in Social Work, was also named to First Team All-American, rushed for a CIAA record 1,920 yards last season.
VUU's
Darian Bryant, a graduate student offensive lineman who is majoring in Curriculum & Instruction, was named to the Don Hansen Second Team while
Armonii Burden, a redshirt junior defensive end who is majoring in Marketing, and
Justin Meade, a redshirt junior offensive lineman who is majoring in Business Management, earned Honorable Mention honors.

Alvin Parker. "The Don Hansen publication is an extremely recognized and respected source in college football, and we stick our chest out to have four players to be named a Don Hansen All-Americans. To have Jada highlight the group by being named the Don Hansen Offensive Player of the year is awesome.  Three of the four selectees are underclassmen and will return to help us continue our success in 2023"
