The Virginia Union University football team, fresh off its victory over #2 ranked Valdosta State University, has broken into the nation's Top 25 football programs as ranked by D2Football.com.
The Panthers are ranked 23rd, just ahead of CIAA rival Bowie State University, which is sitting at 24th.
This marks the first time a VUU Football Team has been ranked in the nation's Top 25 ranking since 2019.
"If it's any group that deserves this recognition it's this group," said VUU Head Football Coach Dr.
Alvin Parker. "They have stayed committed and are always looking to get better. The sky is definitely the limit for this squad". Â
Virginia Union will take on Livingstone College at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, September 17, at Willie Lanier Field at Hovey Stadium. The game is Faculty & Staff Appreciation Night.
