The 2022 PGA Works Collegiate Championship was contested at the Union League Golf Clubs at Liberty Hill and Torresdale Golf Club in Philadelphia, Pa., May 2-4, 2022.  

The 18-hole "Liberty Hill" course at the Union features 7,500 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72. Designed by Gary Player and Warren Henderson, the Liberty Hill golf course opened in 2003. The 18-hole "Union League" Torresdale Golf Course features 6,301 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 70. Designed by Donald J. Ross, ASGCA, the Union League golf course opened in 2015.

The PWCC, known as the most culturally significant championship in collegiate golf, features Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs), Hispanic Serving Institutions (HSIs) and other Minority Serving Institutions (MSIs) from all over the country. There was a Men's Division I and Division II team division, a Women's Team division, as well as individuals representing their schools and playing for the men's and women's titles.

The PWCC was founded in 1986 by the National Negro Golf Association, when HBCUs did not have the same postseason championship opportunities that existed for other institutions. Today, the Championship retains its founding vision to open doors for student-athletes from HBCUs and other athletes from diverse backgrounds.  There was a total of 10 Division II Team from areas throughout the United States.

VUU finished nine shots back after the fifty-four-hole tournament finishing in fourth place. VUU team scoring was led by Senior Travon Willis with a score of 225 (72/72/81), followed by Senior Hayden Garcia with a score of 232 (78/74/80), Senior Alkin Barkley with a score of 232 (81/75/76), Sophomore Joseph Graham with a score of 240 (78/82/80), and Junior Zaccheus Spann with a score of 247 (81/84/82).

"This was our final 2022 Spring Season Tournament," said VUU Head Golf Coach E. Lee Coble.  "While finishing fourth, at the PGA Works Collegiate Championship.  I look at this season as a continued building process for an even more exciting and successful 2022-23 Golf Season.  As I have stated throughout the season, I couldn't be prouder of the way they played all season. They never quit."
