The 2022 CIAA Championship was contested at the Chicora Golf Course in Dunn, North Carolina Thursday and Friday, April 14th & 15th, in Dunn, North Carolina.  Chicora Golf Course is a Par 71, that played as a 6,316 yards layout that proved to be a great test over the two-day tournament with moderate wind gusts and severely sloped green complexes.    
 
There was a total of eight conference team competing.  Elizabeth City State University, Fayetteville State University, Johnson C Smith University, Livingstone College, Saint Augustine's University, Virginia State University, Virginia Union University and Winston-Salem State University.  

Livingstone College led all team scoring on Day 1 & Day 2.  On Day 1 VUU was 5 shots back, and finished 2nd on Day 2 with a two-day team score of 601 (295/306).  VUU team scoring was led by senior Alkin Barkley 143 (69/74), followed by senior Hayden Garcia 148 (74/74), senior Travon Willis 154 (79/75), junior Zaccheus Spann 159 (75/84) and sophomore Joseph Graham 160 (77/83).  Barkley and Garcia were also members of the 2022 CIAA All-Tournament Team and Graham was selected as the 2022 CIAA Rookie of The Year.

"This was our final conference tournament for the 2022 Championship Segment," said VUU Golf Coach E. Lee Coble.  "While finishing 2nd we had a very successful season.  We are poised for post season play. It will be either the NCAA D-II Regionals or The PGA Works.  As I have stated throughout the season, I couldn't be prouder of the way they played all season. They never quit.
