Box Score PHOTO GALLERY | Virginia Union University's Todd Hughes scored a team-high 16 points, but Virginia State University edged the Panthers 60-57 on Wednesday, February 7, in Petersburg, Va.

The game marked the first time the VUU men's basketball team had played a game on the VSU campus since the 1993-94 season.

Hughes was the only Panther to reach double-figure scoring.

VUU's Devin Moore led the Panthers on the boards with six rebounds.

Virginia Union's Jemal Smith and Kory Cooley scored nine points apiece for the Panthers.

The loss dropped VUU to 11-13 overall and 6-6 in the CIAA.  Virginia State is now 19-3 overall and 9-3 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now travels to Bowie, Md., to face Bowie State University in a nationally televised game at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 10.  The game will be televised on the AspireTV Network.
