Box Score Virginia Union University's William Jenkins scored a team-high 18 points, but Chowan University defeated the Panthers 83-70 on Saturday, February 3, in Murfreesboro, N.C.

Jenkins also led the Panthers with nine rebounds.

VUU's Todd Hughes scored 17 points while teammate James Paige added 13 points in the game.

The loss dropped VUU to 11-12 overall and 6-5 in CIAA play.  The loss also dropped the Panthers to fourth place in the Northern Division of the CIAA.  

Chowan is now 8-11 overall and 3-7 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now travels to Petersburg, Va., to face arch-rival Virginia State University at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 7.
