Box Score Virginia Union University's Kory Cooley led the Panthers with 19 points as VUU defeated defending CIAA champion Bowie State University 74-52 on Saturday, February 10, in Bowie, Md.

The 22-point win was the Panthers largest margin of victory since VUU defeated Fayetteville State University 88-59 on January 6.

The win also completed a sweep of Bowie State for the Panthers.

Virginia Union's William Jenkins recorded a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

VUU's Todd Hughes had 13 points while James Paige added 11 points.

The win also moved the Panthers into a tie with Lincoln (Pa.) University for third place in the Northern Division of the CIAA.  Both VUU and Lincoln have 3-4 divisional records.

The win raised VUU's record to 12-13 overall and 7-6 in CIAA play.  Bowie State fell to 12-12 overall and 7-6 in the CIAA.

VUU now returns home to face Lincoln University at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 17, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
