Box Score Virginia Union University's Kory Cooley scored a game-high 19 points, but Johnson C. Smith University sank two free throws with five seconds left to give the Golden Bulls a 65-63 win over the Panthers on Wednesday, January 31, in Charlotte, N.C.

Cooley went 7-for-14 from the field in the game.

VUU's James Paige scored 14 points while teammate Devin Moore grabbed a team-high 12 rebounds.

Virginia Union's William Jenkins added 10 points in the game.

The loss evened VUU's record at 11-11 overall and dropped the Panthers to 6-4 in CIAA play.  Johnson C. Smith is now 13-7 overall and 6-2 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now travels to Murfreesboro, N.C., to face Chowan University in a nationally televised game at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, February 3.  The game will be televised on the AspireTV Network.
