Cooley hit 7 of 8 shots from the field in the win.

The win was an entire team effort for VUU, with Jordan Peebles scoring a career-high 13 points while teammate Todd Hughes added 12 points and grabbed seven rebounds.

Virginia Union's Jemal Smith made himself known in a big way, scoring 11 points and dishing off a season-high nine assists.

The win raised VUU's record to 4-5 on the season while Cheyney fell to 1-8.

Virginia Union now travels to Bluefield, W.V., to face Bluefield State College at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 9.
