Box Score Virginia Union University's Tavon Mealy had 23 points and 10 rebounds as the Panthers defeated Elizabeth City State University 82-69 win on Wednesday, January 25, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

Mealy was one of four VUU players to reach double-figures in scoring in the win.  James Paige had 13 points while Ray Anderson and Eric Cheatham had 11 points apiece.

Although the Panthers only led ECSU by three points (38-35) at halftime, VUU recorded a torrid 62.3% shooting percentage from the field for the game (33 of 53 shooting).  The game marked the highest shooting percentage of the year for the Panthers.

The win raised VUU's record to 16-5 on the year and 8-1 in the CIAA.  Elizabeth City State fell to 0-16 overall and 0-9 in the CIAA.

Virginia Union now returns home to Historic Barco-Stevens Hall to face Chowan University at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 28, in Richmond, Va.
