Anderson Scores 29 Against Livingstone

Box Score Virginia Union University's Ray Anderson scored 29 points, but Livingstone College defeated VUU 108-103 in overtime on Wednesday, February 3, in Salisbury, N.C.

VUU's Kory Cooley added 26 points in the game.

Union is technically in second place, but the Panthers are 4-2, 1/2 game behind Virginia State University at 4-1.  Virginia State, however, still has to make-up a game with Elizabeth City State University that was postponed due to inclement weather.

Virginia Union's Tavon Mealy scored 14 points while teammate Danny McElroy had a double-double with 10 points and 10 rebounds.

VUU's Ke'Andre Gibson also scored 10 points.

The loss dropped VUU to 12-12 overall and 5-7 in the CIAA.  Livingstone is now 8-14 overall and 3-7 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now travels to Bowie, Md., to face Bowie State University at 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, February 10.
