Box Score The Virginia Union University men's basketball team captured the #2 seed in the Northern Division of the CIAA and also assured themselves of their first winning season in four years by downing Chowan University 87-77 on Saturday, February 20, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
VUU will enter the CIAA Tournament with a two-round bye and play their first tournament game on Thursday, February 25, in the Time-Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C. Â The Panthers' potential opponents and game times will be announced on Sunday, February 21.

Danny McElroy had 11 points and nine rebounds.
The Panthers finish the regular season with 15-13, the most wins since the 2010-11 season. Â VUU is also 8-8 in the CIAA. Â Chowan dropped to 19-8 overall and 11-5 in the CIAA.
