Box Score Virginia Union University's John Mitchell had 16 points and 12 rebounds to lead the Panthers to a 71-69 win over the University of the District of Columbia on Wednesday, November 30, in Washington, D.C.

Mitchell was a perfect 8-for-8 from the field in the game.

VUU's Ray Anderson scored 13 points while dishing off five assists.

Virginia Union's Tavon Mealy, Kory Cooley and Todd Hughes each scored 10 points in the game.

The win raised VUU's record to 6-2 while District of Columbia fell to 1-4.

Virginia Union now travels to Winston-Salem, N.C., to face Winston-Salem State University in a non-conference match-up at 7:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 3.
