Box Score Virginia Union University's Ray Anderson had 19 points, but Fayetteville State University outlasted VUU 72-70 on Saturday, January 9, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va. 

Anderson hit 7 of 17 shots in the game while dishing off seven assists.

VUU's Kory Cooley added 18 points while teammate Tavon Mealy scored 15 points.

Virginia Union's Danny McElroy led the Panthers on the boards with seven rebounds.

The loss dropped VUU to 6-9 on the season and 0-4 in the CIAA.  Fayetteville State is now 7-7 overall and 2-3 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now meets Saint Augustine's University at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 11, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
