Box Score Virginia Union University's Ray Anderson led the Panthers with 31 points as VUU defeated defending CIAA champion Livingstone College 105-91 on Thursday, January 14, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

VUU led at halftime 50-43 and then scored 55 more points in the closing stanza in a non-conference match-up.

Virginia Union's Danny McElroy scored 19 points while teammate Kory Cooley added 13 points.

VUU's Colton Lewis scored 11 points and Ke'Andre Gibson dished off a season-high 10 assists.

Virginia Union's John Mitchell led the Panthers on the boards with six rebounds while also getting three blocks.

The win raised VUU's record to 8-9 while Livingstone dropped to 7-10.

Virginia Union now faces Virginia State University in the 2016 Freedom Classic, to be held at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, January 17, in the Richmond Coliseum in Richmond, Va.
