Box Score Virginia Union University's Ray Anderson led VUU with 25 points, but Johnson C. Smith University defeated the Panthers 85-71 on Saturday, December 19, in Charlotte, N.C.

Anderson hit 11 of 18 shots from the floor in the game while also going 3-for-6 from the free throw line.

VUU's Timmone Whatley led the Panthers on the boards with seven rebounds while Tavon Mealy added 13 points in the game.

The loss dropped VUU to 5-7 overall and 0-2 in the CIAA.  Johnson C. Smith is now 5-5 overall and 2-0 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now enters the Holiday break and will resume play when the Panthers travel to Raleigh, N.C., to face Saint Augustine's University in a non-conference match-up at 7:30 p.m. on Monday, January 4.
