Box Score Virginia Union University's Ray Anderson hit two free throws with 1.2 seconds left to life VUU to an 86-85 win over Bluefield State College in the Panthers' home opener on Tuesday, November 17, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.

Anderson led VUU with 28 points and seven assists while teammate Tavon Mealy had 17 points.

VUU's Danny McElroy led the Panthers with seven rebounds.

Virginia Union's Kori Cooley and Robert Valentine had 10 points apiece in the win.

The win raised VUU's record to 1-2 while Bluefield State dropped to 1-1.

The Panthers now travel to Raleigh, N.C., to face Shaw University on Saturday, November 21.
