Box Score Virginia Union University's Avery Jirmnson scored a career-high 33 points, but Elizabeth City State University defeated VUU 94-85 on Wednesday, February 19, in Elizabeth City, N.C.

Jirmnson's 33 points were the most by a Panther in a single game this season and the most by a VUU player since Damion Harris tallied 39 points against Elizabeth City State on February 23, 2012.

VUU's Omar Briggs recorded another double-double by scoring 12 points and grabbing 11 rebounds in the game.

Virginia Union's Ray Anderson added 14 points while Justin Ihkide scored 10 points for the Panthers.

The loss dropped VUU to 6-18 overall on the season and 5-10 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union concludes the 2013-14 regular when it meets Chowan University at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, February 22, in Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va.
