Box Score Virginia Union University's Avery Jirmnson scored 23 points, but the University of Charleston defeated the Panthers 69-58 on Sunday, November 30, in Charleston, W.V.

Avery went 9-for-9 from the free throw line and hit 7-of-14 shots from the field in the game.

VUU's Robert Valentine scored 11 points while teammate Colton Lewis added 10 points of his own.

Virginia Union's Ray Anderson and D'Andre Bullard had six rebounds apiece.

The loss evened VUU's record at 3-3 while Charleston is now 3-2.

Virginia Union now returns to Barco-Stevens Hall in Richmond, Va., to face Barber-Scotia College at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, December 2.
