Jirmnson Scores 17 at Winston-Salem State

Box Score Wearing black uniforms for the first time in this season, Virginia Union University Avery Jirmnson scored 17 points, but Winston-Salem State University defeated VUU 91-84 on Thursday, January 2, in Winston-Salem, N.C.

VUU's freshman phenom, Ray Anderson, led the Panthers with 24 points in the game.

Virginia Union's Omar Briggs added 11 points for the Panthers.

Anderson also led VUU on the boards with eight rebounds.

The loss dropped VUU to 2-9 overall and 1-1 in the CIAA.  Winston-Salem State is now 6-5 and 1-0 in CIAA play.

Virginia Union now travels to Salisbury, N.C., to face Livingstone College at 7:30 p.m. on Saturday, January 4.
