Box Score Virginia Union University's men's basketball team captured the third seed of the Northern Division of the CIAA by downing Chowan University 66-56 on Saturday, February 23, in the regular-season finale for both teams in Murfreesboro, N.C.

VUU's Juan Wilson led the way with 16 points and 10 rebounds in the win.  VUU's Wesley Simmons also scored 16 points while teammate Cordero Holt added 11 points.

The win raised Virginia Union's record to 10-14 overall and 7-9 in the CIAA.  

Chowan, who was led by Quinton McDuffie's 20 points, finished the regular season at 6-19 overall and 0-16 in CIAA play.

VUU, having captured the third seed of the Northern Division, will, in all likelihood, play Winston-Salem State University on Thursday, February 28, in the CIAA Tournament in the Time Warner Cable Arena in Charlotte, N.C.
